Understanding Negative Equity Car Loans in Heath, OH

What Is a Negative Equity Car Loan? A negative equity car loan occurs when the amount you owe on your vehicle exceeds its current market value. This situation, often referred to as being "upside down on a car loan," can happen for various reasons, including rapid vehicle depreciation or financing terms that don’t align with the car's value over time. For drivers in Heath, OH, this can be particularly challenging if you're looking to trade in your vehicle or refinance your loan. Understanding the factors that contribute to negative equity is the first step toward finding a solution. Why Do Negative Equity Car Loans Happen? Rapid Depreciation Vehicles typically lose value quickly, especially in the first few years of ownership. If your down payment was minimal or you financed the full purchase price, you might find yourself upside down on a car loan sooner than expected. Long Loan Terms Extended loan terms may lower monthly payments but can also increase the risk of negative equity. With longer terms, you pay off the loan more slowly while the vehicle's value continues to drop. High-Interest Rates If your car loan has a high-interest rate, a significant portion of your payments goes toward interest rather than reducing the principal balance. This can delay building equity in your vehicle. Upside Down on a Car Loan: What to Do Option 1: Keep the Vehicle The simplest way to address negative equity is to keep driving your car until its value aligns more closely with what you owe. This allows you to continue making payments without incurring additional costs associated with trading in or selling the vehicle. Option 2: Make Extra Payments By paying more than the minimum amount due each month, you can reduce the principal balance faster. This strategy helps you catch up with depreciation and may bring you out of negative equity sooner. Option 3: Trade In with Caution If you need to trade in your vehicle, be prepared to roll the negative equity into your next loan. While this can provide immediate relief, it may increase your new loan amount and monthly payments. Consulting with experts at Coughlin Ford of Heath can help you navigate this process wisely. Where to Find the Best Pizza in and Around Heath, OH

Heath, OH is a city that lies roughly 30 miles east of Columbus in Licking County. Despite its small size, there is plenty to do in the city, and there are plenty of places to get great food. Today, we're looking at the three best pizza places in the Heath area for when you're just too tired to cook one more meal. Plaza Pizza Plaza Pizza is far and away the best pie place in the Heath area. If you're not feeling creative, you can go with one of the specialty pies, like the five-meat pizza or five-veggie pizza. However, you can also craft your own perfect pie with well over a dozen toppings to choose from. If you want a cauliflower crust, you'll have to get a 10" pizza. Otherwise, you can build a 9", 11", 13", or 15" pizza just the way you want it. If you're going to sit down and eat, you might want to bring a large SUV, like a 2022 Ford Explorer XLT. You'll probably have lots of leftovers to transport in addition to your family, especially if you try the Shirley Lou. This restaurant also offers other options besides pizza, like salads and an out-of-this-world torpedo. Jet's Pizza While Plaza Pizza is the best place in Heath to get pizza, Jet's Pizza is a great option if you love Detroit-style pizza. Jet's is also the place to order from if you're planning to throw a party because the wings, desserts, and breads are amazing. If you're feeling a calzone instead of Detroit-style pizza, you won't be disappointed if you try one of their specialty calzones. However, you can also customize your own calzone with your favorite pie toppings. Donatos Pizza Donatos Pizza is also well worth a visit if you and your family are in the mood for pizza. This pizzeria offers well over a dozen specialty pies to choose from, but you're also more than welcome to customize your own perfect pie. If someone in your household isn't in the mood for pizza, they won't go hungry if you order from Donatos. There are plenty of hot and cold subs to choose from, and the calzones are really good too. Donatos is also worth considering if you plan to host a party. In addition to pizza, you can order dessert, salad, appetizers, and wings. They even sell convenient two-liter bottles of soda and large bottles of tea. If you're in the Heath area and feeling pizza for dinner, you're in luck, but only if you have a reliable vehicle. The best place to get pizza in the area, Plaza Pizza, does not offer delivery. Notable mentions that are well worth a visit include Donatos Pizza and Jet's PIzza. If you are at your wits' end over the unreliability of your vehicle, we can help. Come see us today at Coughlin Ford of Heath for help to get into the Ford of your dreams. Image via Dontatos Pizza.

Coffee is one of the most personalized drinks in the world. It can be made with numerous types of milk, flavored to suit any taste, and it's even available at a variety of temperatures. This versatility, and its amazing taste, have made coffee one of the most popular drinks in the world. Coffee Shack Coffee Roasters & Cafe LLC Coffee Shack is friendly and upbeat, and they also have some of the best coffee in Heath. They're located at 409 S 22nd Street Ste 3, so they can be difficult to find. Once you've found them, however, you'll certainly go back again. They're also slightly unusual for a coffee shop as they have their roastery on site. All of their coffee is imported from different countries as green beans, which are then roasted in their roastery. They have drip coffee, pour-over, and French press. All of the standard espresso drinks like cappuccino, red-eye, and a variety of lattes are on the menu. What makes Coffee Shack different is their care in roasting the best beans shines through in every cup you drink. They also have numerous hot drinks, and our two favorites are the honey and lavender latte and the white chocolate peppermint mocha. Village Coffee Company Village Coffee has a perfect location in Granville at 132 Broadway E, right in the heart of downtown. This site, its excellent coffee, and friendly service have helped to make them a popular spot for a regular caffeine fix. They have an excellent range of espresso drinks, cold brew, and iced drinks. We like the Milky Way, with espresso, milk, chocolate sauce, caramel syrup, and whipped cream. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and they even have nice touches like comfortable armchairs near the fireplace. The owner stocks a variety of coffees, including the Tanzanian Peabody, which you don't normally find in this part of Ohio. The staff are very friendly and will customize your coffee or espresso if you let them know exactly what you want. River Road Coffee House River Road occupies an unusual building for a coffee house, it's housed in a renovated 1860 farmhouse. Couches, armchairs, and 2,4, and 6-seater tables give you a good variety of seating options. When the coffee house opened in 2003, it quickly generated a loyal following among the staff and students of Denison University. This affection for great, well-priced coffee in pleasant surroundings continues with the university students. They have numerous expresso drinks and coffees. You have a choice from drip, French press, or you can try the clever dripper for the perfect drip coffee experience. River Road can be found at 935 River Road, Granville.
